Jeffrey started his career in Drew and Napier having pupiled and then practiced her from 1981 to 1985. He then joined the National University of Singapore and embarked on an illustrious career in legal academia, focusing on civil justice, procedure, evidence and ethics. His books and articles are frequently relied on by judges and lawyers as authoritative sources and have also been cited in hundreds of judgments. He has produced, and contributed to, over 30 major text-books and reference works to date in his capacity as Author and/or Editor in Chief or Consultant Editor, and has written multiple articles. He has also appeared as amicus curiae before the Court of Appeal and given presentations in his areas of expertise in various countries.
