Singapore | Director Yvonne Tang contributed to two LawNet Asian Insights articles on developing a robust IP strategy and misuse of IPR

Director Yvonne Tang contributed to two LawNet Asian Insights articles, “Developing a robust intellectual property strategy: The key to mitigating risks” as well as “Misuse of intellectual property rights: How to prevent it in your organisation”.

In the first article, Yvonne weighed in on how in-house counsel can develop their organisation’s intellectual property (IP) strategy which includes understanding the organisation, having the senior management on board, and developing standard operating procedures. She also offered offensive and defensive strategies to protect IP and mitigate risk.

In the second article, Yvonne discussed how organisation can guard against the misuse of intellectual property rights. She also shared the steps organisations can take when facing IP infringement, consisting of taking swift actions, securing information and evidence as well as maintaining confidentiality.
