May is a Director in the Banking & Finance Practice Group. She specialises in banking and finance.

May has more than a decade of experience advising on a broad range of domestic and international secured and unsecured lending transactions, including bilateral and syndicated banking facilities, acquisition financing, project financing, capital call facilities, real estate financing, working capital facilities and receivables financing. May has acted for various major domestic and foreign banks and financial institutions, as well as corporate borrowers (including SGX listed entities) and funds.

May is fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia. She is qualified to practise in Singapore as a Qualified Foreign Lawyer and is admitted to the Malaysian Bar and the Roll of Solicitors of England & Wales.

  • Acted for a Singapore bank in relation to green loan facilities for the acquisition of electric vehicles
  • Acted for a sponsor in relation to the restructuring of the S$653M project financing facilities for a waste-to-energy plant in Singapore
  • Acted for the project company in relation to project financing facilities for the fifth desalination plant in Singapore, Jurong Island Desalination Plant
  • Acted for the lenders in relation to S$900M banking facilities granted to a Singapore incorporated JV for the acquisition and development of a parcel of land in Singapore
  • Acted for the Singapore branch of a US bank in relation to NZ$ credit facilities granted to two New Zealand incorporated property developers to fund property renovation and refurbishment costs
  • Acted for a Singapore bank in relation to credit facilities for the acquisition of a Hong Kong incorporated entity which owns a private education business
  • Acted for a SGX listed company and its subsidiaries in relation to green loan facilities for the acquisition of a serviced apartment and several warehouse buildings
  • Acted for the lenders in relation to US$250M senior secured term loan facilities granted to Indonesia incorporated borrowers for the acquisition of shares and asset enhancement works
  • Acted for a Cayman Islands fund in relation to US$300M secured multicurrency capital call facilities granted by a Singapore bank
  • Acted for a Singapore incorporated borrower in connection with margin loan facilities
