The Criminal Procedure Code 2010 (“CPC”) was amended by Parliament on 19 March 2018 as part of broader changes to enhance fairness and justice in criminal proceedings under the Criminal Justice Reform Act 2018.
The amendments under Division 5 of Part XIII of the CPC came into force on 15 November 2022. These relate to procedures dealing with persons of unsound mind or who are otherwise incapable of making their defence.
