Charlotte has worked on complex, high-value and multi-jurisdictional litigation and international arbitration matters. She has represented and advised clients across a broad range of disputes, including those relating to commercial contracts, shareholder disputes, and freezing injunctions.
Charlotte has significant experience in international arbitration and has acted in arbitrations conducted under major institutional rules, including those of the ICC and SIAC. She is also frequently involved in arbitration-related proceedings before the Singapore Courts, including applications to set aside arbitral awards and for interim relief in support of arbitrations.
Charlotte graduated from the Singapore Management University with an LL.B. (Hons) degree in 2019. During her studies, she represented the university in several international moots, including the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot.

Arbitration-related court proceedings
- Acted for a leading multinational energy company and its subsidiary against a Chinese energy conglomerate and one of China’s largest state-owned enterprises in proceedings in the Singapore International Commercial Court to set aside two SIAC arbitral awards rendered in a US$5.5 billion dispute. This was one of the largest sums in dispute for a single administered case by the SIAC.
- Successfully defended applications before the Singapore International Commercial Court to set aside two arbitral awards rendered in an ICC arbitration concerning a wildly popular massively multiplayer online role-playing game involving multiple contracts. The dispute involved complex jurisdictional questions and novel legal issues under Singapore law and Korean law. The alleged losses were valued at US$1 billion.
Cross-border insolvency
- Successfully acted for BSI Bank Limited in resisting an application brought by the foreign liquidators of a 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB)-linked entity in the Singapore High Court for standing to commence avoidance claims under the UNCITRAL Model Law on Cross-Border Insolvency.
SGX disciplinary proceedings
- Acted for a listed real estate investment holding company and its directors in disciplinary proceedings before the SGX Listings Disciplinary Committee concerning alleged contraventions of the SGX Mainboard Listing Rules arising out of a rights issue exercise.
Investor-state arbitration
- Assisted in an investor-state arbitration administered by the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) concerning a multi-million dollar claim under the Energy Charter Treaty.
