Hui Ting practices in all aspects of civil litigation involving corporate and commercial matters. She has acted for clients across various sectors in a wide range of disputes involving contract and commercial claims, fraud, tenancy and leases, as well as corporate debt recovery matters. She is involved in civil and commercial disputes both in court and in arbitration. Hui Ting has also acted for and advised private and high-net-worth clients in contentious and non-contentious proceedings concerning family businesses, probate, trusts, wills, marriage and matrimonial causes, children and other related matters.

Dispute Resolution

  • Represented the owners and the property management company of a shopping mall in a contentious court action against its tenant for breaches of the tenancy agreement.
  • Represented a real estate investment trust in a claim against its lessee for breaches of a lease agreement over a factory in Johor.
  • Manages advisory and tenancy recoverable portfolio of real estate investment trusts and building management companies of various shopping malls in Malaysia.
  • Represented a construction company in a dispute arising from 2 condominium projects in Penang in respect of progress payment claims and Liquidated Ascertained Damages (LAD) claims.

Arbitration

  • Represented an airport operator in an arbitration proceeding in respect of the KLIA-2 airport involving its joint venture partner and concessionaires as a result of delays in the construction and operation of the KLIA-2 Integrated Complex (involving a claim sum of an excess of RM100 million).
  • Represented a pharmaceutical company in an arbitration proceeding in respect of excessive penalty claims imposed for late delivery of products ordered.
  • Represented a construction company in an arbitration proceeding for construction claims, Liquidated Ascertained Damages (LAD) claims, penalties and fines involving a Project in Iskandar Puteri, Johor. 

Private Wealth and Family Business

  • Represented domestic and foreign individual clients in contested and uncontested probate and administration proceedings.
  • Assisted domestic and foreign individual clients in will drafting and establishment of testamentary trusts.
  • Represented clients in divorce and matrimonial disputes, as well as child custody and guardianship matters.
