Huimin is a Singapore-qualified lawyer and litigator. Her expertise lies in high-value matrimonial proceedings, complex private client issues and contentious family law matters.

In the area of family and matrimonial law, Huimin’s expertise extends to advising on pre-nuptial and post-nuptial agreements, contentious divorces, custody and maintenance disputes, high value asset division and related ancillary matters. She has considerable experience in cases involving non-disclosure of assets, cross-jurisdiction asset pools and multi-million dollar financial settlements.

Huimin also has a distinct niche in probate and estate matters, advising clients across both contentious and non-contentious estate proceedings. Her work in this area includes applications for grants of probate and letters of administration, revocation of grants, and disputes concerning the validity of Lasting Powers of Attorney, Wills and testamentary instruments. She has also represented clients in complex, multi-day High Court probate trials, often involving allegations of undue influence, lack of testamentary capacity, or family conflict over estate distribution.

In addition, Huimin regularly handles deputyship applications and Mental Capacity Act–related matters, advising families on court appointments, asset management and decision-making for persons lacking capacity. Combining litigation experience with a sensitive, practical approach, she is known for guiding clients through emotionally charged estate disputes while pursuing efficient and proportionate outcomes, whether through court proceedings or negotiated resolution.

Huimin is an advocate for alternative dispute resolution. She is an SMC Accredited Mediator and SMC Certified Family Mediator, reflecting her pursuit for amicable settlements and negotiated outcomes where appropriate.

Her work has been recognised in leading legal rankings, she was recognised as a Future Star in the Family & Matrimonial and Private Clients practice areas in Benchmark Litigation Asia-Pacific 2025, evidencing her standing within the legal community.

 

Some of the matters Huimin has acted in are:

  • Successfully acted for the Defendant husband in a contentious application to seek a determination on the operative dates to be applied in the division of matrimonial assets after consent orders on ancillary matters were set aside (WGM v WGN [2025] SGHCF 23).

  • Successfully acted for a Respondent husband before the Court of Appeal in defending orders made on the division of matrimonial assets at first instance in TBZ v TCA [2017] SGHCF 18.

  • Successfully acted in a highly contested dispute relating to the validity of a Lasting Power of Attorney and the appointment of deputies under the Mental Capacity Act (WLR and another v WLT and another and other matters [2023] 5 SLR 1372 and [2024] SGHCF 20).

  • Represented the Plaintiff in an 8 days’ trial in WWI v WWJ [2024] SGFC 22 and the Appellant in WWI v WWJ [2024] SGHCF 28 to seek a determination on the validity of three Wills.

  • Successfully represented the estate representative in Tsang Lolita v Personal Representatives of Eng James Jr, deceased [2024] SGHC 151 in defending the deceased’s estate against a claim for an unfulfilled inter vivos gift.
