Drew Network Asia launches two ASEAN Guides

We are delighted to announce the launch of Drew Network Asia’s (DNA) ASEAN Guides, which are designed to provide legal professionals, businesses, policymakers, and stakeholders with an invaluable resource on the latest legal and regulatory developments of various topics, with expert insights from legal practitioners, across Southeast Asia.

In conjunction with our DNA seminar, “AI, Data Use and Cybersecurity: Developments in Asia and Beyond”, held on 16 July 2024, we launched the DNA ASEAN Guide to: Data Protection and Cybersecurity Regulation in Southeast Asia, and the DNA ASEAN Guide to: How the use of Artificial Intelligence Is Regulated in Southeast Asia. The hybrid seminar featured 15 speakers and was attended by over 300 in-person and virtual attendees.

The successful seminar featured the collective expertise of DNA lawyers Lim Chong Kin, David N. Alfred, Anastasia Su-Anne Chen, Cheryl Seah, Heru Mardijarto, Reagan Roy Teguh, Janet Toh, Irene Yong, Kristine R. Bongcaron and Nopparat Lalitkomon.

The DNA lawyers were also joined by distinguished industry guest speakers, Darren Grayson Chng from Electrolux, Vikneswaran Kumaran from IMDA, Akira Matsuda from Iwata Godo, Simon Newcomb from Clayton Utz and Susan Ning from King & Wood Mallesons.

The topics centred on the latest developments in Singapore and the Asia Pacific, and cross-border regulations and best practices surrounding AI, data use and cybersecurity. Each speaker added their ASEAN perspectives into the discussions.
