Singapore | Draft best practices guide for medical device cybersecurity consultation

On 6 March 2025, the Medical Devices Cluster of the Singapore Health Sciences Authority released a draft on Best Practices Guide for Medical Device Cybersecurity (Guide) for stakeholders’ consultation.

In this legal update, Co-Head of Data Protection, Privacy & Cybersecurity Lim Chong Kin, Head of Healthcare & Life Sciences Benjamin Gaw, and Associate Director Goh Boon Yeow set out the key recommendations under the Guide and how it may affect medical device manufacturers and healthcare providers.

They also provide a snapshot of the 4 stages of a product’s Total Product Life Cycle and best practices recommendations and considerations at each stage, to ensure that medical devices are secure throughout their lifespan.
