Indonesia | When Rates Align: What Happens in the Price Fixing Case against P2P Lending Companies
Peer-to-peer (“P2P”) lending platform companies have recently been in the spotlight following a new Competition Supervisory Commission (Komisi Pengawas Persaingan Usaha – “KPPU”) decision on price fixing practice on loan interest. While pricing alignment is not unusual in a fast-growing and highly regulated market, the case highlights how quickly “common practice” can raise red flags under competition law.
