Stephanie Kandou has been representing major multinational institutions as well as national companies, in various legal matters, particularly in banking and finance, mergers & acquisitions, and other transactional work in Indonesia. Her practice highlights include complex financial transactions acting for both lenders and major corporate borrowers and she has also been involved in project finance transactions. In mergers & acquisitions, she has acted both for acquirers and acquirees in various M&A transactions in Indonesia.

With more than 13 years of experience, Stephanie has also been advising clients in foreign investment and general corporate practice, as well as capital market, such as IPO and bonds issuance. She obtained her bachelor's degree in law from Universitas Indonesia with a cum laude predicate and continued her education in Erasmus University Rotterdam in Rotterdam, the Netherlands where she graduated with an LL.M in 2009. Stephanie has been part of the firm since 2010.

Banking & Finance

  • Represented Lestari Listrik and PT Lestari Banten Energi (project company) in the issuance of USD
  • Representing PT Cirebon Energi Prasarana in connection with the financial aspects of the development of a 1x1,000 MW coal-fired power plant in West Java, Indonesia
  • Representing PT Cirebon Energi Prasarana in connection with the granting of certain Equity Bridge Loans to be used for amongst others paying all costs incurred, or to be incurred, in connection with the development, design, engineering, financing, construction and commissioning of a 1x1,000 MW coal-fired power plant in West Java, Indonesia.
  • Represented a multinational bank in Indonesia in the reorganization of its legal division structure and providing various legal advice on retainer basis.
  • Represented an Investment Manager in restructuring a RDPT (an incubator fund) and DINFRA (infrastructure fund) due to pandemic force majeure in Indonesia. 

Mergers & Acquisitions

  • Represented the purchaser in the proposed global acquisition of a major supermarket company.
  • Represented a proposed bidder in a proposed acquisition of a group of Indonesian water treatment companies.
  • Represented a major gold and copper mining company in its proposed acquisition of an Indonesian company and its proposed joint venture with a local partner for setting up smelting activities.
  • Represented GO-JEK in the investment and acquisition by several groups of foreign investors.
  • Represented GO-JEK in the investment in various start-up business.
